The Anointing Oil is used widely in the Church, and rightly so because the Church embraces the connection between the Holy Spirit, Anointing, and the Anointing Oil. However, there are strict guidelines governing the Anointing Oil in its first appearance in the Scriptures when God asked Moses to formulate it. These guidelines give us hints of the nature and invisible attributes of the Holy Spirit which we have to be mindful of in our fellowship with the Holy Spirit. I discuss the Anointing Oil as an emblem of the Holy Spirit and what that means to our relationship with the Holy Spirit.
